JCS NYW and Children Partying at Pure Life Society

Kuala Lumpur, Saturday, 20-Jan-07, about 150 underprivileged children form various homes were treated with high-tea, magic shown, clowns and games. The event was organized by the Jaffnese Cooperative Society National Youth Wing (JCS NYW) at the Pure Life Society Center. The various homes are Pure Life Society (PLS), Rumah Hope, Rumah Shalom and Compassion Home for Children.

The event was officiated by Mother Mangalam of PLS and Mr. Satguna Rajah (JCS Chairman).

The event started at 4.00pm with the speech by the Organising Chairman, Mr Kuhan Nadarajah who thanked all those who contributed and supported the event and promised to have such an event as a yearly event.

The JCS Chairman, Mr. Satgunarajah in his speech congratulated the NYW on their project and affirmed the JCS Boards support for the NYW committee in the coming years. He also thanked the MCC P.Jaya Youth Team a.k.a P.J.Tigers to have come forward and support the event with the JCS NYW Committee.

Mother Mangalam in her speech thanked the NYW for the kindness shown towards the children. She further pointed out that these children, who were either orphans, abused or neglected children, have been attending far too many functions organized by various organizations or individuals. She prefers that organizations or individuals come forward in the form of youth to teach these children. These youth presence are really lacking in organization such as PLS. She also mentioned that many former residence of PLS except a few who succeeded in life came back and paid homage to the PLS and other homes.

The children and guests were then treated with high-tea. This high-tea was fully sponsored by JUMBO Food Caterers. Various Vegetarian delicacies were served. Two clowns, Scotter and Lulu and a magician show then entertained the children until the event ended at 7.30pm.

Mr. Ramindra, JCS NYW Chairman in his final note expressed his satisfaction to the Organising Committee on the smooth sailing and successful of the event. He also thanked all who came forward to support the event one way or the other.

Koperasi Jaffnese Berhad (KJB), formerly known as Jaffnese Cooperative Society (JCS), was established in 1924 and is one of the oldest and active Cooperative Societies in the country. The Koperasi currently has 5,200 members nationwide.
